Taking Shape burst onto the plus size women’s fashion scene in 1985 and since then we’ve grown to be the leaders in plus size fashion, celebrating curves across Australia and New Zealand. Just like you, there are different sides of us! We have a range of store formats; Taking Shape boutiques, Myer Concept stores, Clearance Stores and a new Clearance and Boutique format. We have a world class, growing e-commerce business, providing our customers endless aisles and multiple ways to engage with our fabulous product. Each business model is focused on an exceptional customer experience and equally reflects the Taking Shape culture and values.

Interview Process

Our interview process allows us a chance to understand your experience and aspirations, plus provides an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about Taking Shape.

The interview process is a series of interviews managed by our People & Culture Team and supported by our Store and Retail Support Centre Teams.

All positions at Taking Shape will go through a two stage interview process and reference checks. On occasion, our interview process may differ depending on the nature and level of the position. All interviews are guided by behavioural questions to best determine your fit to the position and Taking Shape.

We encourage our applicants to be themselves and come prepared with any questions they have so they can better understand the positon and how Taking Shape supports their career aspirations.

Interview Tips

We want to set you up for success, so here are a few ideas to assist you with your preparation for our recruitment process;

  • Research Taking Shape to ensure you have a good understanding of company purpose, goals and values
  • Dress for success – let your style, flair and personality show us how you would be a fabulous brand ambassador!
  • Reflect on your career and note key highlights and achievements which help you demonstrate your experience and align to the role you’ve applied for
  • Ensure you’re prepared ahead of the interview; whether its familiarizing yourself with the location, checking the travel time or doing a test run for a video interview, if you’re prepared you’ll be calm and focused
  • Think of questions you would like to ask also – it’s just as important for you to assess Taking Shape as a potential employer. Ask about things which are important to you
